I’ve always been a sucker for a good morning routine. I think it’s important to start your day on a positive note. One act can mark the way your entire day goes.
Being the morning person that I am, I usually wake up around 7am, write, exercise, meditate, and head out to work by 9:30am. I meal-prep my breakfast and lunch the night before, so that I have time to focus on myself first thing the next day.
After reading many articles online about detoxing the body, I decided that incorporating an easy form of detoxing could make my mornings more relaxing and exciting.
I accepted the challenge to detoxify my body and decided to drink detox tea every morning — specifically Traditional Medicinals Everyday Detox Tea and Yogi Detox Tea — for a month to see what would happen. Here’s what I gained from the experience.
I Looked Forward To Something Warm In The Morning
I’ve never been a coffee gal, so when my friends would start up the coffee machine first thing in the morning or go to coffee shops to satisfy their caffeine craving, I always felt a little left out. Since starting the daily detox tea routine, I now looked forward to coffee shops and I love mornings even more! It’s a little treat to myself.

It’s a known fact that drinking lots of water clears up skin and although we know it’s well worth it, we don’t stick to it. This detox tea really made me enjoy different ways to keep up with my water intake. It wasn’t even 9am and I had already drank a full cup of water! Because I had started the day with fluids, I found myself craving more water or tea during the day. Hello, clear skin!
For those of you that are trying to cut back on caffeine, drinking detox tea could be a great way to start. The plus side of drinking tea is that many of them are naturally caffeine-free herbal varieties. You can still start your morning with the same routine of having a hot drink but on a more natural and healthy note.
Goodbye, Morning Bloat
If I had a big dinner the night before, I would sometimes wake up with morning bloat. But ever since I started incorporating the detox tea into my daily routine, my bloat is gone-zo! Even some swelling on my face, which I didn’t even know was there, has gone down.
It Improved My State of Mind, Metabolism, and Changed My Appetite
The herbs in the tea allowed my stomach to get ready for the meals of the day. By starting my morning with tea, my body didn’t need a big breakfast soon after. At around 10am I would eat a smaller portion of breakfast like fruit or yogurt. Then, when lunchtime came around, I felt hungry for a hearty meal, which then would set me up to feel satisfied throughout the day. It made me slow down and realize what I was putting into my body.
A New Form of Self-Care
Something about the positive act of detoxing my body inspired me to also take note about my overall feeling and write about it. Every morning I sit with my tea and write down whatever comes to mind. It has allowed me to get in tune with my own body and take care of myself.
I personally love drinking Traditional Medicinals Everyday Detox and Yogi Detox Tea because they are organic teas, caffeine-free and seemed to be the best way to introduce a natural detox tea to my system.
